According to the Guardian, China has gone a month without announcing any new deaths from the coronavirus. 

The National Health Commission reported four new cases of the virus Friday, all local cross-infections in the northeastern province of Jilin where a cluster of uncertain origin has been detected in recent days. The last time the commission reported a death was on 14 April.

Just 91 people remain in treatment for Covid-19 and 623 others are under isolation and monitoring for being suspected cases or for having tested positive without showing symptoms, including 11 newly detected.

In total, China has reported 4,633 deaths among 82,933 cases since the virus was first detected late last year in the central city of Wuhan.

China has maintained social distancing and bans on foreigners entering the country, but has increasingly opened up the world’s second-largest economy to allow both large factories and small businesses to resume production and dealings with customers. The government plans to hold the ceremonial parliament’s annual session later this month, but with highly limited access for journalists and others. [MORE]

Acording to the WSJ, China is now using the global spread of the disease to bolster an increasing vocal, assertive bid for global leadership that is exacerbating a years long conflict with the U.S. 

Combined with deliveries of essential goods, this public-relations push has enabled China to stake a claim to a void on the global stage left by an inward-looking America.

Over a two-week period in March, Chinese government agencies, companies and charities donated more than 26 million face masks, 2.3 million testing kits and other supplies to 89 countries, according to a review of state media reports and government and company statements. As of April 1st China’s Foreign Ministry said the number of countries receiving its coronavirus-related help has reached 120.

bullshit - a barnyard epithet expressing utter disbelief at a statement or discourse that has been suggested to one by another. Bullshit is authentic or ordinary man's psychological weapon of defiance in the face of his inability to change the circumstances surrounding the absurdity or naked lies being offered as reality. Wherever you have illogical thinking and irrational bias merging, you will find its by-product--Bullshit. Bullshit often comes in the form of semantic disinformation---the exploitation of language over perception. Bullshit is something you should be allergic to and never be immunized or inoculated against.

"Bullshit" is a far better term than "rationalization" but they basically mean the same. "Bullshit" is an organic, living and breathing word; whereas rationalization is dead-letter clinical term used by academicians with Ph.D.'s. You see, sometimes the bullshit seems to never end. Alright, hold up, walt a minute--who done put the bullshit in it? Once one problem ends, shit-- some more start seeping in. Unbothered by the bullshit all up in the mix, if you can read the signs then you can learn the tricks. Lo!
