National Guard to fight Puerto Rican crime
Gov. Sila Calderon has announced that she will activate the Puerto Rico National Guard to aid police in curtailing a violent crime wave on the island. As the first step in a three-phase plan, Calderon ordered 500 troops to patrol public events and areas where large amounts of people gather, including festivals and shopping malls, said Brig. Gen.
