There is still a possibility that terrorists are plotting to attack the United States before the Nov. 2 elections, Robert Mueller, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), warned on October 15. But he quickly admitted that so far there was no specific intelligence regarding the timing, location and method of such possible attacks. Mueller was responding to questions during background briefings to foreign journalists about the agency at the FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C.
