Omaha Black Men DNA Dragnet: DNA Testing Challenged
The controversy over the search for a serial rapist isn't going away. Several African American men want to know why they were targeted in the investigation and asked for DNA samples. The answers lie in legal papers sealed by a judge. Police say they are looking for an African American male in his late 20s to early 30s. Acting on information from their investigation, police got the names of Omaha Public Power District workers and tested several of them, along with several other men. The specifics of why those men were tested haven't been revealed. Philip Moore was one of the men approached by detectives for DNA samples. Moore says he was told, "I want your DNA.
