Saddam Assembles New Legal Team - Gets Known US Attorney

Another illustrious name may join the league of lawyers to defend former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, reports news channel Al-Jazeera. According to the report, former US attorney general Ramsey Clark is expected to join the legal team defending the deposed Iraqi president before a special Iraqi tribunal. The report quotes the panel's chairman Mohammad Rashdan as saying, "Negotiations are going on for Clark's joining of the team." Saddam's defence team already includes notables including Roland Dumas, former French foreign minister, and Aisha Gaddafi, daughter of Libya's leader Colonel Gaddafi, along with some 20-30 prominent Arab and non-Arab lawyers.
