Butler sworn in as first Black justice to Wisconsin Supreme Court
Louis Butler took the oath of office Wednesday to become the first minority justice to serve on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. "I look forward to the day when we no longer have to acknowledge firsts," Butler, a former Milwaukee County Circuit judge, said after taking time to recognize other blacks who have served on state courts."To him, equal justice under the law is not just a slogan," Doyle said Wednesday.
