Sharpton Organizes Rally to Protest Black and Latino Joblessness in NYC

Sharpton and other local leaders will protest the disproportionate joblessness in New York City with a rally Monday beginning at Ground Zero. Organizers will call on Mayor Bloomberg and the City Council to budget $20 million for job initiatives to combat the alarming unemployment numbers in the city, especially among black and Latino males.While yesterday there was much news on the booming local economy, a recent study found that nearly 52% of black men and 30% of Latino men are out of work in New York City.
