Hotline Created For Latino Voters

Hispanic Americans who have questions about how to vote or about their voting rights soon will have a toll-free hotline to call for answers.  The National Association of Latin American Elected Officials is leading an effort to help Hispanics understand how to participate in the presidential election.  The bilingual, nonpartisan hotline, which opens for calls Sept. 21, will serve as a source of information on election-related issues, including voter registration, polling places and laws related to voting.  The hotline also will help document and monitor voter protection complaints and work with local election officials to respond to them, NALEO officials said.  The number of the toll-free hotline is 1-888-839-8682.
