Long Guilty in Boot Camp Death of 14 Year Old - tough guy awaits jail sentencing

The director of a juvenile boot camp was found guilty of reckless manslaughter in the death of a 14-year-old boy who died of complications of dehydration and near drowning after training exercises. Charles Long, left, 59, director of "tough love" camps called America's Buffalo Soldiers Re-enactors Association, in Phoenix, was also convicted of aggravated assault not related to the death of the boy, Anthony Haynes. In July 2001, Anthony began acting erratically and eating dirt under the desert sun at the camp. Counselors took him to a hotel and put him in a bathtub, where he inhaled water while unconscious.
