Wade Henderson Declares Victory Against Anti-Affirmative Action Initiative

After a court ruled that an anti-affirmative action petition was not too confusing to be placed on the Michigan ballot in Nov., the Republicaan led group behind the petition nevertheless decided to postpone it's efforts until 2006. Wade Henderson, the executive director of the Ledership Conference on Civil Rights said,"the decision to postpone Ward Connerly's misguided petition drive is another sign that he recognizes Michigan is an uphill fight when it comes to his effort to subvert public support for equal opportunity for women and minorities.'
